Kim Alsbrook’s ‘My White Trash Family’ Series

First time I laid eyes on this series was at PULSE Art Fair. It was a instant – stop – stare – obsess moment. The moment when the art speaks to you first and explains itself afterwards.

Philadelphia based artist, Kim Alsbrooks says her series, ‘My White Trash Family’ deals with prevailing ideologies and class distinctions. One look at these pieces – the museums quality portraits placed on flattened drink cans and you can see the poking at social structures.
