#GETIT Logan Hicks x Laurence Vallieres Skull Sculptures

The Laurence Vallieres x Logan Hicks collaborative sculptures are finally available! A collabo between the stencil master and the gifted cardboard sculptor, I’ve checked them all out personally- they are amazing. Made from Hicks’ stencils and Vallieres’ signature cardboard, they are sealed in varnish and come in a crazy display box by Jakprints. I think some of them are already gone, so I’d act fast if I were you.

The sculpture series is a fusion of Hick’s signature intricate stencil patterning, emblazoned across Vallieres’ expert sculptural construction. Rendered in grim detail, the larger-than-life skulls looks out of empty sockets ornamented with varying patterns – and are archivally sealed in a thick gloss of varnish

Each piece of macabre splendor comes offered in a custom crafted display case fit for a figurehead (designed by Logan Hicks, and produced by Pure Black Inc.)

Seven sculptures are available this month, and will be shipped to their final resting place on December 14, 2014.

In my crazy coincidental life, I met sculptor Laurence Vallieres when literally Googling “cardboard artists” for my book. Not long after, she was coincidentally in a show outside of Basel, Switzerland with Logan Hicks. Flash forward to a few weeks ago, and the three of us were sitting in Logan’s studio while the pair created this series.
