FAILE’s Epic Exhibition in Soho

If you’re in town this week, be sure to stop by the newly-christened Allouche Gallery in Soho in between holiday shopping for a massive FAILE Works on Wood exhibition. Truth be told, you can even get some holiday shopping done there, and pick up their new book that is beyond imagery, including a collection of essays on their process (which of course piques the interest of nerds like me.) The show is only open until December 10- so get on it!

NEW YORK, NY (October 27, 2014) –Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller –collectively known as FAILE—today announced the Fall 2014 release of FAILE:Works on Wood, a new collection of essays and rich color photographs that showcases the artists’ exploration of wood in their practice. Printed in partnership with noted art publisher,Gestalten, the book presents a broad swath of FAILE’s projects from the past decade, from early work using salvaged material to more recent commissions including their towering installation at the New York City Ballet in 2013.As a follow up to Gestalten’s two previous FAILE bestsellers–FAILE: Prints+ Originals 1999–2009andFAILE Temple–FAILE: Works on Wood($65.00) features beautiful color reproductions and chronicles the artists’ exploration of this versatile medium, revealing the continual evolution of their work.The book includes both critical writing and reflections by FAILE on iconic facets of their work in and out of the studio, including their interactive Puzzle Boxes, carved Prayer Wheels, and bold, large-scale paintings.
