Buy me this Ragnar Kjartansson Commission. Thanks.

If anyone has an extra $40 lying around, please feel free to big on this incredible piece up for the Performa auction, hosted on Paddle8. Ragnar Kjartansson’s The Visitors literally blew my mind last year. I think I am really truly in love…with an art work. Make this one my own!

Ragnar Kjartansson, Sad, sad, sad, created 2013. A private performance, date to be determined by buyer and artist (estimate: $40,000 – $50,000)
Kjartansson has created a new performance specially for Performa 13’s benefit auction: “With my frequent collaborator Davíð Thor Jónsson I will take my little Martin guitar to any space anywhere in the world and perform a two-hour concert of the saddest songs we know. The songs are mostly country, blues and lieder. Davíð Thor will need to be provided with a piano. The setting should be intimate and the folks attending should be seated in a comfortable way. With my consultation the buyer can document the performance for his collection.” For Performa 11, Kjartansson presented Bliss, a twelve-hour long performance that repeated the delirious final aria of Mozart’s 1786 opera The Marriage of Figaro.
