Art Nerd New York’s Roundup of Spring Gala Fever

Is it me or is the New York Art World stricken with Gala Fever this April?  This month is packed with Warhol-inspired arts benefits, auctions and parties from an amazing cast of nonprofits & arts institutions. From FIGMENT’s Factory Gala to Skowhegan honoring the Warhol Foundation to Creative Time’s celebration of art super star Julian Schnabel. Here’s our round up of seven amazing fundraisers to support the new york art scene this month, which one will you be at? We kicked off the season by getting dressy for Figment last night!

1) The Factory Gala to Benefit FIGMENT
Tuesday, April 2, 2013 – 6pm – 10pm
Hudson Terrace, 621 West 46th Street, NYC

The name FIGMENT came to us from Andy Warhol. And if there’s a scene and an era that we consider our heritage, it’s Warhol’s Factory in the late sixties. Once a year we look back and party like it’s 1968. Join us at THE FACTORY GALA in celebration of our history and our future, as FIGMENT grows up, gets serious, and makes an impact in cities around the world through participatory art.

2) AIPAD Opening Night Gala
Wednesday, April 3, 2013 – 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m
Park Avenue Armory, 643 Park Ave  New York, NY 10065

Opening Night Gala to benefit inMotion
You are invited to preview The AIPAD Photography Show New York on Wednesday, April 3. The AIPAD Opening Night Gala will benefit inMotion, a non-profit organization providing legal services for low-income women.

3) TRIBECA Ball honoring Warholite Bob Colacello

111 Franklin Street, New York, NY

On Monday, April 8th you will have the opportunity to explore artist studios and see the work of the NYAA’s emerging artists, enjoy champagne cocktails, listen to live music and take part in interactive entertainment. Proceeds support scholarships for talented artists and public programs at NYAA. The work in this gallery is a preview of the work available for sale at Tribeca Ball, with select works available to purchase until April 8 at 12pm EST.
