Art Nerds rejoice! Halloween is the best time of the year to show off your intellectual creativity!! LACMA’s 10th Annual Costume Ball is LA’s most fun annual masquerade event to don your amazing Haunted Hollywood-land costume creations.  We’ll be covering the event and working on our own unique spins on “Best Black-and-White Costume,” “Best Classic Movie Monster,” and “Best Ghost of Hollywood Past.”  You have to be there to see if “The Art Nerd” wins so become a MUSE member today to save $40 off a general admission ticket. PS. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) presents its tenth-annual Muse Costume Ball on Saturday, October 26, 2013.  Annual Halloween Extravaganza Features exclusive access to works of art on view and exhibitions, music by Clairy Browne and the Bangin’ Rackettes and Theophilus London, live horror installations by zombie joe’s underground theatre group, and more!

8–9 pm Guests make their debut on the red carpet, BP Grand Entrance.
9–10 pm Live music performance by Clairy Browne and the Bangin’ Rackettes
10 pm Guests are invited to take part in the annual costume contest with categories including Best Black-and-White Costume, Best Classic Movie Monster, and Best Ghost of Hollywood Past. Judging panel featuring costume designer, Prizes include a yearlong membership to LACMA, local event tickets from the Geffen Playhouse and Cirque du Soleil, and more! BCAM, Level 3
10:30 pm  The festivities move upstairs to the third-floor gallery of BCAM for a haunted after-party with live horror installations by Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre Group, dancing, and DJ set by Theophilus London.

The evening also offers exclusive access to the museum’s special exhibitions See the Light–Photography, Perception, Cognition: The Marjorie and Leonard Vernon Collection and John Divola: As Far As I Could Get; and Bruce Nauman’s For Beginners; Chris Burden’s Metropolis II; Richard Serra’s Band; and LACMA’s modern galleries. Additionally, guests can enjoy a pop-up supper club by LACMA Executive Chef Jason Fullilove featuring gourmet plates for purchase (until midnight).

Costume contest prizes include a yearlong membership to LACMA, local event tickets from the Geffen Playhouse and Cirque du Soleil, Johnson Hartig for Libertine Wear LACMA tote and tee, gift certificate to Patina restaurants at LACMA, and more!
