They say that imitation is the highest form of flattery.  This type of visual adoration is showing up everywhere as evidenced by the photo sets over at ‘WHO WORE IT BETTER’.  Although one of these comparisons is really a jab.  The Tumblr Who Wore It Better compiles these sets as part of an “ongoing visual research project presenting associations and common practices in contemporary art to promote a formal and conceptual dialogue over originality.”

I couldn’t wait to send them my Anna di Prospero Latina :: Andrew Wyeth Christina’s World find.

What I see as a mirror image nod to Andrew Wyeth’s painting “Christina’s World” is the work of photographer Anna di Prospero. And while my assessment of it being an urban rendition might not be on par with her thoughts, it’s been fun making comparisons in its likeness of Wyeth’s platte of rural landscaping and the enchantment found in the use of light and shadow.

They welcome submissions if you have a comparison to share.
