What’s Your Story: The Strangers Project Comes to The Fountain Gallery

It’s an oft-recited truth that everyone has a story, but rarely (especially as New Yorkers) do we stop to really engage the narratives around us. However, Brandon Doman of The Strangers Project, has sought to help others share their stories with those around them. Since 2009, Doman has asked complete strangers that he’s passed to write something to share with others; it can be anything, from a confessional to an anecdote, as long as it’s true. Now, over 10,000 anonymous “journal entries” later, Doman will be exhibiting these stories and collecting new ones at the Fountain Gallery, during “Evidence of Living: A Strangers Project Exhibit,” which opens tonight, with a reception from 6 – 9 pm. Visit the gallery to read the stories or contribute your own. The exhibit runs through January 11.

702 Ninth Avenue @ 48th St. New York, NY 10019; Thurs: 6 – 9 pm, Fri-Sat: 11 am – 9 pm, Sun: 1 – 5 pm.
