Watertower by Tom Fruin
Brooklyn Bridge Park has become quite the destination- not only is it beautiful, nestled between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, but more and more events, art works and restaurants are popping up. Not to mention the pristine new lawns that stretch the length of the East River shore. Park revelers are treated day and night with a water tower thats like no other- Water Tower by Tom Fruin.
Made from colorful recycled Plexiglas, Fruin’s homage to the iconic New York City icon glitters during the day, and illuminates at night with a light program by Ryan Holsopple. Take the water taxi over, grab an ice cream at the historic Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory (a cute 1922 fireboat house that now serves treats!), sit on one of the expansive lawns and enjoy the sea, the bridges and the rainbow glittering water tower.
