Project Runway High Line

Sometimes I become totally oblivious to advertising. Living in a city like New York, there are ads literally everywhere, so much so that I don’t even see them anymore (that is what I tell myself every time I face the Tyler Perry movie posters in my subway station). But sometimes, just SOMETIMES an ad campaign is genius enough to be considered art. And thus we have this week’s advertorial installation on the High Line.

For this week only, visitors to the High Line park can sashay their way past the Project Runway judges, and be judged. The giant interactive billboard is awakened when someone walks by, stirring the virtual Heidi and virtual Tim Gunn to whisper, talk, judge and tell you if you’re in or you’re out. Sorry if you’re against ads, but I think this is super fun, effective and something I would go out of my way to engage in. Kudos to that.

The installation will be just north of the 23rd Street lawn on the High Line and be active  from 12pm – 10pm on July 16th, 8am – 12pm on July 17th, and 12pm – 10pm on July 18th and 19th so stop on by to hear if you’re in or out.
