Mia Tyler and Gabriel Angemi -Caution- at ArtNowNY

Our friends at ArtNowNY (which is being rebranded this fall btw) are known for mixing it up. Their next show, which opens Thursday, brings two more photographers together. Caution is a two person exhibition- Mia Tyler’s work explores the sensual, sinister and voyeuristic side of sex, with Tyler on the other side of the camera. Gabriel Angemi’s photographs reveal the gritty Camden, NJ from a firefighter’s perspective- a tragic place in situations of tragedy.  The artists’ reception is June 5 from 6-9 pm at 548 W 28th Street 2nd Floor. Also showing is an exhibition by Chor Boogie in the project room!

Mia Tyler, daughter of Steven Tyler, is breaking out as a photographer in a new two-person show at ArtNowNY, “Caution” opening June 5th. After years of being in front of the camera as a model, her photography address social taboos and sexual norms with a stripped down and provocative aesthetic. Together with Gabriel Angemi, a Camden, NJ firefighter who photographs his daily encounters with poverty, crisis and death, “Caution” is a show that challenges the viewer to look, see and feel what is normally hidden.
