Legacy Fatale presents // TUG OF WAR

Saturday October 13th, 3PM // 231 E. 14th Street, NYC

A performance art program selection part of Art in Odd Places 2018 BODY Artists curated by Katya Grokhovsky. For the past decade, Legacy Fatale has celebrated female empowerment through performance art and interdisciplinary social practices. For this edition, Legacy Fatale’s director Coco Dolle invites you to a curated program crossing-over the world of punk and performance art with the politics of resistance.

Located at The Beauty Bar, one of the last remaining staples of East Village culture resisting gentrification, “TUG OF WAR” will demonstrate a live performance art work starting 3PM, evolving into a short choreographed protest march along the block of 14th street, followed by a tug of war game happening outside of the Beauty Bar. The group of performers will then invite the audience into the Beauty Bar to an abstract dance performance piece and a music program.

Collaborations include a costume collection by Elisa Jimenez of Hunger World, the avant-garde punk designer for Courtney Love; a music collaboration by Nico Mazet of SISTER IODINE, French pioneer experimental noise rock band; a musical act by lazy punk band What Would Tilda Swinton Do.

A print of the Legacy Fatale collection will be exhibited at the Westbeth Gallery// AiOP group show opening October 4th at 55 Bethune St. New-York.
