Largest Video Wall In the World (almost)

The crazy Frank Gehry designed IAC building caused a stir when it popped up amongst the galleries in the Chelsea Arts District- to some, marking the moment that Chelsea was “so over.” But whether you like the building or not (I kinda dig it), the building is more than just the swirling facade- it boasts one of the largest high resolution video walls in the world. Spanning 120 feet wide and 11 feet high, it can be seen from commuters on the West Side Highway and the Chelsea Piers.

The wall mainly shows branding imagery from Trollback + Company about IAC’s online businesses, with themes like “I Date” (romantical stuff) and “I Shop” (thats pretty obvious…). Hopefully, with influence of their starchitect-designed building, the IAC will surrender some air time to arts organizations…great idea, eh?
