Getting Up: The Tempt One Story
In 2003, Los Angeles graffiti artist Tempt One was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), a degenerative neuromuscular disease that left him unable to move, breathe or speak. Caskey Ebeling’s inspirational new film, Getting Up: The Tempt One Story, documents the efforts of the Not Impossible Foundation to invent a low-cost, open-source visual device that allows Tempt to create art again using only his eyes.
Getting Up: The Tempt One Story is screening tonight at The Actors Fund in Brooklyn at 6PM and The JCC in Manhattan at 9PM ($3 off admission using this code EFDWOO13). Sara Schiller, Co-founder of the street art website Wooster Collective will be speaking on a panel after the JCC screening.
