El Anatsui on the High Line

Take a walk on the High Line where architecture blends into sky. You already know I’m a huge fan of El Anatsui‘s epic tapestries made from bottle caps and other recycled materials. I was super psyched to see that his work was the latest outdoor installation on the High Line. Called Broken Bridge II, the glittering piece is made up of salvaged mirror and pressed tin, and is the artist’s largest outdoor installation to date.

In blue skied days, the installations transforms the building it sticks to into a blur of blue, green and light, reflecting the busy city around it. Enjoy- it is up until Summer of 2013!
