Dubuffet on Park Ave

Designed by I.M. Pei’s firm, the lobby of this semi-boring office building has a three-part relief by Jean Dubuffet. Although it pales in comparison to his amazing 4 Trees installation in Lower Manhattan, the black, white, red and blue piece is very Dubuffet, and is situated in a public passageway. The piece was completed in 1971, and for some weird reason is not labeled…but is worth a look if you’re in the area.

Who: Jean Dubuffet

What: 3 part relief

Where: 499 Park Avenue, 10022
