Creative Capital Auction at Pulse NY
Creative Capital’s benefit Gala kicks off next week, but interested parties can catch a preview at PULSE New York this weekend. Auction previews of work by Franco Mondini-Ruiz and other sneak peeks will be up for grabs to PULSE attendees. The online auction is already underway, but the party isn’t until May 14th, so theres still time to pick up a ticket.

PROCEEDS BENEFIT CREATIVE CAPITAL’S GRANTING, COUNSELING & CAREER DEVLOPMENT SERVICES FOR ARTISTS
On May 3 national nonprofit Creative Capital launches its 2013 Benefit & Auction online athttp://auction.creative-capital.org. The auction includes works by Creative Capital artists in all disciplines including Byron Au Yong, James Bidgood, Complex Movements, LaToya Ruby Frazier,Ken Gonzales-Day, Joan Jeanrenaud, Zoe Keating, Simone Leigh, Meredith Monk, Daniel Roumain, Lisa Sigal, Kerry Skarbakka, Stacey Steers, Noelle Tan, Trimpin and Sam Van Aken. Site visitors may also enter a raffle to win three nights at the Delano South Beach during the upcoming Miami International Art Fair.
The Creative Capital team will be on hand at PULSE NEW YORK May 9-12 previewing and pre-selling the works on auction, as well as offering an exclusive project, Spring Flings & Pretty Things, by acclaimed artist Franco Mondini-Ruiz. This new series of works on paper, acrylic on canvas and ceramic objects was created by the artist specifically to benefit Creative Capital. Mondini-Ruiz will be present at the Creative Capital booth offering a glimpse into his kinetic and multidisciplinary art-making process. Creative Capital’s benefit festivities culminate at its annual Benefit Party on May 14. The Benefit will feature a performance by genre-bending performing artist (and 2002 Creative Capital grantee) Daniel Roumain, an extension of Franco Mondini-Ruiz’s Spring Flings project, and silent and live auctions led by Christie’s auctioneer Sara Friedlander.
