COLLECTIVE AFFECTION at Hotel particulier
What makes something art anyway? Hotel Particulier’s COLLECTIVE AFFECTION asks just that- and brings together a group of objects assigned artistic definition by fine and commercial artists themselves. Stop in and have one of the best coffees I’ve had in a long time, and peruse the recently extended show.
COLLECTIVE
AFFECTION
EXTENDED.
ON VIEW UNTIL OCT.12
Inspired by a studio visit to art jeweler Edgar Mosa – These jewels: they are not entirely jewelry. COLLECTIVE AFFECTION is about artworks left in a box, not taken seriously, mundane design with an essence, works in progress, inspirational and emotional banal objects, re-contextualized artworks – and at times sketches and prototypes become it .
A collection of singular works, limited editions, fragments, prototypes in collaboration with fine and commercial artists: two multidisciplinary artists, an art jeweler, an eyewear designer, a perfumer, a sound artist, two photographers, a printer and an art director.
