Andrea Zittel at The Modern

With the epic Mickalene Thomas piece now gone, the window in front of The Modern restaurant next to MoMA had big shoes to fill. Enter Andrea Rosen Gallery. Currently on view at the gallery is Andrea Zittel’s “Fluid Panel State”- marking her tenth year with the gallery. (check out my “meh” review on ArtSlant here)

Museum of Modern Art, MoMA, Andrea Zittel, Andrea Rosen Gallery, Mickalene Thomas, The Modern Restaurant

The Modern has commissioned Zittel to take over their 53rd Street window. The installation (which sort of looks like a circle of candy corn…am I right?) also has four mannequins wearing her signature “uniforms”- fabric pieces that can be worn or hung on a wall like a painting.

Who: Andrea Zittel

Where: 11 W 53rd St  New York, 10019
