An evening of art experience with Past X Future

Friends of Tsedek is going outside of the traditional fundraiser auction box, hosting an immersive night of art and cocktails to benefit art, music, and literacy programs for underprivileged children in Israel. The art of the evening spans decades, with Helmut Newton’s classically sexy black and whites, futuristic (or present day??) adventures in a virtual gallery with the VR program Tilt Brush, music infusions by a live beatboxer, cocktails inspired by Shanghai, and for those of us who couldn’t make it to Bristol- a slice of Banksy’s Dismaland. Grab tickets for the Friends of Tsedek’s First Annual Art Auction & Cocktail Party, on September 7th, 2016 from 7pm-10pm at the Metropolitan Pavilion.

Through an evening dedicated to collaborative effort, aesthetic passion and inspiration to give, Friends

of Tsedek invites you to take a journey thro ugh time.

New York, NY – Friends of Tsedek invites the public to its First Annual Art Auction & Cocktail Party,

PAST X FUTURE , on September 7 th , 2016 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea.

A true embodiment of the PAST X FUTURE theme, the artworks on display will cover ideas ranging

from the Impressionist era to modern day street art. Amongst the most prominent pieces being sold are

Robert Whitman’s early portraits of legendary pop icon Prince—works that have been credited with

launching both artists’ careers. Additionally, Greg Haberny’s previously unattainable Dismaland

installations will be showcased, along with irreproducible, original, and never-before-seen inscribed

Helmut Newton Polaroids, and remarkably rare Frank Worth photographs that were accumulated over a

period of 60 years and found posthumously at his estate. The event will also showcase and auction

works by the likes of Faith Ringgold, Romare Bearden, Jean Marc Isere, Bradley Hart, Artem

Mirolevich, and many others.

Pioneering the art of the future, the event will also boast never before seen integrations of art and

technology. In partnership with DeathlessVR, Artists Misha Tyutyunik, known as the mastermind

behind New York City’s largest urban mural, and Tripp Derrick Barnes, known as the founder of Pop

Neoism, will be collaborating to create a virtual reality gallery using Google’s highly anticipated VR art

program, Tilt Brush, which allows users to pain t in a three-dimensional space of their own making.

More than a night of visual stimulation, PAST X FUTURE is an event designed to appeal to all senses.

As guests peruse galleries, they are invited to indulge in cocktails crafted by Shanghai inspired mixology

bar, Lumos, while listening to live collaborative musical efforts of vinyl record spinning DJ duo Cole &

Dave, renowned beatboxer J. Stone, and acclaimed violinist Gabrielle Fink. Guests will also be invited to

play a key role in an immersive art project meant to symbolize the coming together of guests, artists,

musicians, and event organizers to invest in creating a better future for underprivileged children. Finally,

adding to the artistic flair of the evening, artists and staff will be dressing in decade-themed attire,

incorporating shirts and ties from high quality menswear company Twillory.

Proceeds from this event will benefit therapeutic art, music, and literacy programming for over 250

at-risk children living in the Ahava Village. The Ahava Village, a subsidiary of the Bnai Zion

Foundation, is a full-time residential center that specializes in working with highly at-risk youth, many of

whom have been sexually and domestically abused.
