Falling under the “intelligent pop” genre because of its incorporation of historical references and diverse musical styles, the Canadian outfit Stars crafts lush tracks that highlight vocalist Amy Millan’s songbird vocal style. The group has been releasing albums since 2001 and has a respectable following in Canada, despite being considered somewhat of an art house band in the U.S.
