WeHo@30: Art AIDS WeHo

ShowImage

“WeHo@30: Art AIDS WeHo” spotlights the impact of AIDS on art and culture with more than three months of exhibitions, events, installations, and programming. It begins this Friday, June 5 with openings for “Art AIDS America” at the West Hollywood Library and ONE Gallery Museum & Archives, and coincides with the members’ preview for “Tongues Untied” at MOCA at the Pacific Design Center.

The 47 works comprising Art AIDS America at the library and ONE represent a select sneak preview of the groundbreaking retrospective organized by the Tacoma Art Museum Washington that will be the first comprehensive overview/reconsideration of 30 years of art made in response to the AIDS epidemic in the United States (the full show opens in Tacoma in late 2015 before traveling to museums in Georgia and New York in 2016). I’m hoping that you’re interested in covering or reviewing West Hollywood’s advance preview of this important exhibition, and featuring other WeHo@30: Art AIDS WeHo programming over the coming months.
