Supervelma: Not Your Grandma’s Needlepoint

I’m going to do it… I’m going to use one of “those” hipster lingo phrases to describe my latest obsession.  It has to be done. And here it is: Amy Sheridan’s stitch game is on point.  That’s right.  This isn’t the first time that needlepoint has gone rogue with risque language and saucy graphics, but it is the first time that I couldn’t get enough of one particular piece.  Amy’s hand stitched Kanye West Tweet is utter genius.  The tweet needlepoint pieces can also be, as Amy puts it, “Non-Ye” (absolutely anyone else’s tweet).  Send her your favorite tweet and she’ll stitch it up just for you.

There are also many other gems in the Supervelma shop, like this classic from Tupac: “Soon as I step on the scene, I’m hearin’ hoochies screamin'”, lovingly stitched alongside a sweet peacock friend.

If all of this brilliance isn’t enough, whenever possible, Amy donates a portion of her proceeds to Welcome Home Barnyard Sanctuary, a 501(c)3 non-profit farm animal rescue in Corpus Christi, TX.  She’s hilarious, has the mad skillz (there – I did it again) and has a philanthropic, animal loving heart.  www.etsy.com/shop/supervelma
