Yutaka Sone & Benjamin Weissman: What Every Snowflake Knows in Its Heart
Santa Monica Museum of Art (Santa Monica) 8-10pm

Opening reception for a collaborative exhibition by Yutaka Sone and Benjamin Weissman. This exhibition was conceived when Sone, a contemporary artist known for his architectural and natural landscapes, and Weissman, a writer and visual artist, met on top of Mammoth Mountain at the suggestion of their colleague Paul McCarthy. In the five years since, the two artists have created an exhibition based on their passion for snow and related subjects including skiing, forests, mountains, and athletics. What Every Snowflake Knows in Its Heart includes paintings, sculptures and an animatronic ski mountain. On view through April 5, 2014.

Join SMMoA at the Opening Reception for Yutaka Sone & Benjamin Weissman: What Every Snowflake Knows in Its Heart, an exhilarating collaboration between an artist and a writer that explores a shared passion for skiing and snow. Enjoy food from Bling Bling Dumplings and Dogtown Dogs, and a preview of the holiday boutique at GRACIE, SMMoA’s gift shop.
